Hi, does anyone use the Libre Sensors using a Samsung Galaxy A12 mobile phone?
My doctor would like me to do a trial using the sensors. I had to buy a new phone and now I'm told that my phone can't be guaranteed to work with the sensors. Wondering if anyone can help with their experience. Thanks.

The A12 should have "Near Field Communication" (NFC) capability, which supports Libre sensors as well as contactless payments. You can check and activate by opening the settings app (cogwheel) and going to connections 》 NFC and turning it on.  You can also search for the setting by opening setting and searching for NFC.

Is it flakey? Sometimes when the battery gets low NFC will be turned off, plug the phone in and turn the NFC back on.

The list of compatible phones tested by Abbott is (very) incomplete, ask your supplier about contactless payment capability.

The Android Pixel and the Samsung S20FE both definitely work with Libre,  from personal experience.

Hi Sandra. I was using the Libra sensor with an A12 samsung.  When they changed to the Libra 2 sensor the A12 would not cut it. I bought a refurbished S8 Samsung, which works well and solved a number of other problems I had with other apps. One big advantage, is that my Endocrinoligist can dial in on my readings remotely.  Not sure if Abbott are continuing with the older version disc option. It basically gave all the info I wanted when I used it with the A12.
Just spent some time in hospital dealing with a major bowel surgery and having the Libra disc was a  tremendous help to me and the nursing staff.

Hello Sandra, my personal experience with Sensors and mobile phone has been a disaster. My original mobile phone didn't work. I purchased a new Samsung phone - and yes, Abbot said it was compatible - and still had much trouble. The company were good in that Sensors were replaced but the emotional distress I went through in contacting them and working through the issues were not worth it - for me! I had purchased five Sensors at the one time, three of them didn't work, one did and I still have one which I will not use, I just don't want to put myself through the trauma again. Back to the original Sensors and Reader for me, simple to use and well worth the cost.

I have been told many patients have success with the Libre 2 Sensors but notice product reviews don't give glowing recommendations.
