Dennis Pollock discusses Gary Taubes books, and the Strong and Relevant messages that they convey to all people around the world who are currently living with type 2 diabetes.
Gary's books include;
"Good Calories, Bad Calories"
"Why People Get Fat, And What To Do About it"
This short YouTube video helps us to clearly understand why and how we all got to where we are now.
And for me, this reinforces my own experiences with being diagnosed with T2D, and how I was able to quickly achieve and Maintain Remission and Improved health markers, some 3 years ago.
Once I realised what was going on with my health, and how the medical system works, it was a "NO BRAINER" for me.
I just Had to stop eating so many Carbohydrates and Regain my Health - Simple as that.
And THAT action will (Still) be in total contradiction to other types of health care approaches involving recommendations to follow Standard Dietary Guidelines, Getting and Maintaining Diabetes, and then taking drugs, which mostly cause further harmful side effects that need further medical management.
It's a Merry-go-round that I Refuse to be a part of right now.
Shortly after I was diagnosed, I began to severely restrict the Carbs in my diet, losing 30 kg in six months, and reducing my Hba1c from the Eights, down to the low Fives.
Other people may not approach their T2D problem the way that I did.
And if you already take artificial BGL lowering drugs, and also severely cut the carbs at the same time, you will need to closely monitor your falling BGL levels.
You will require doctor assistance to gradually de-prescribe off the BGL lowering drugs, to achieve better health in the long run.
Almost immediately after being diagnosed with T2D, I STOPPED Eating,
- All Bread and Wheat Flour food products
- All Rice and Pasta
- All Starch vegetables
- No Potatoes
- No Beer
- All Ultra Processed Foods
If I didn't go Cold Turkey on the carbs, like I did, I probably would have started with cutting out Bread and Wheat Flour products first.
Most people would be amazed with their results of doing just that for just a few weeks.
Thrive for Progress, Not Perfection.
Cheers,
Greg
