Time to have a session with your doctor as your readings are high. I am concerned that you could feel a lot better.

Hello ,
Re range on CGM, you can go to settings and set the limits for your range. I say "your range" as this needs to be discussed with your doctor or educator.
The lower limit should be adhered to as per advice. The Dexcom G6 will not permit the lower limit below 3.3 on my device. However, I changed the upper limit from 10 to 10.5 as it was very annoying to hear the alarm when the rise is temporary and declines soon after. However, we are all different so talk to your Dr or educator.
All good wishes,
Julie

Hi Anom
i an 60yr T1D, use Dexcom G6, insulin Lantus 9u, humalog before meals.
the time in range (TIR) must have been set when you started using the Libre, either by D Ed or manufacturer, my G6 is set at target range 4.4-11.0 mmol/L, your TIR 47% may be dependant on these settings, maybe the target range needs looking at, it could be too narrow, speak to your DE. My TIR is 87% and i still have all the issues you are talking about.
We all experience those morning effects of blood sugars, being a roller coaster of reading sometimes, nothing unusual there, glucose being released from liver early in day. M your fast acting needs attention; i find if that happens i throw away the insulin i am using for a new vial and that can have good effect.
there is nothing more maddening with diabetes than high blood sugars when you feel you are doing everything as required to manage the condition, thats for sure.
good luck

Hi Eric
Read your time in range with great interest as after 60 years you'd think I would be perfectly within range. But as I am 82 years old I am finding keeping within range over 50 percent ever harder than before, particularly since retiring from work 4 years ago. My current 7 day recording on my Libra 2 app is 47%. Not too bad I suppose and I only occasionally miss an injection of Humalog before a meal. My current BS is 15 and rising because I enjoyed a steak and kidney pie for lunch! It'll be down to about 11-12 by 5.30 pm. What concerns me these days is the "morning effect" in that on waking my BS is about 5.1 but then after a cup of tea but no cereal or toast it rises to 9 or 10 which starts me off high for the morning. Sometimes it stays high at about 14 or 15 before lunch! On other days my levels behave themselves with the same morning routine. Can others please write if they have the same troubles?
