    Hi Members,

We are taking baby steps in regards to holding some in person events. We have been thinking we might start by hosting some small get togethers that allow members to interact with each other whilst learning something from the food, move, mood and me topics.

Do any of these ideas appeal?

    1. Group golf lessons followed by an education session with an exercise physiologist.
    2. Paint and sip classes with tips from a Psychologist.
    3. Walking group.
    4. Lunch in a cafe where a dietitian could discuss how to make good choices when eating out.
    5. Bare foot bowls and a session with an exercise physiologist.
    6. Cooking class.
    7. Short first aid course.
    8. Tai Chi class

Do you have any other ideas?

    Thank you

A walking group would be good.

With regard to  No 5,  any  barefoot  activity  would  go  against  the  professional  advice  I  have  been  given  in  sixty  years  of  Type 1.     Some  of  the  other  options  would  be  alright,  except  GOLF,  which  I  consider  elitist,  not  available  to  everyone    [ personal  opinion ]     Barry

In todays world golf is no longer an elitist sport so please get it correct. I have played since 1968 in NZ and  last 29 years in Australia and never would i call myself an elitist or high end of the chain. I am also Type 1 played golf while having chemo and a rotten immune system. Keeps the brain free.
    Thank you

    Hi Team
Activities 2,3,4,5,8 appeal. Never tried tai chi before, walking could become a longer term group activity, and it is so lovely to go barefoot on nice grass and connect with the earth.

    Cheers
    Rochelle

I agree Rochelle. I love the feeling of getting my bare feet wet in the dewy grass.
