  • 1.  New Diabetic Drug to Compete with Ozempic

    Posted 04-06-2022 07:40
    Hello All

For those of us who have progressed beyond remission and have problems
using Ozempic, a new drug will come on the market.

It is called Mounjaro and has received approval from the FDA - its being
discussed at the ADA conference (that's currently in progress).

For anyone interested I have included a screen shot from a recent article.

    Regards

    Steven B.

While I am waiting for the Ozempic supply to return to normal, at the moment I am back on Trulicity. It is very similar to Ozempic, and there is no shortage of it.

    Hi Steven B,

You may realise by now that I'm not a big fan of medications to treat the Symptoms of T2D.

I would rather take more effective and beneficial actions to reverse the known Cause, which is not druggable.

I'm also very aware of the need to check for the side effects and limitations of use, for any new medications that may be prescribed to me.

Personally, I avoided a potential health issue bullet, by checking my previous GP's suggestion that I start taking Metformin, the moment I was diagnosed with T2D.

When I checked for the known side effects of Metformin, and there are quite a few, most medical websites also advised not to take this drug if you were taking another specific form of medication, which I was at the time.

In another case, my older sister was prescribed a new combination of T2D medications (Just to see how you go, said her then doctor), which instantly made her quite sick, and caused her to break out in rashes.

So, I've done a quick check on Mounjaro, and again, personally, I would seek professional advice, and be very knowledgeable of my own personal health condition, before I consumed this drug, which I wouldn't.

Common and Rare Side Effects for Mounjaro subcutaneous (webmd.com)
Mounjaro: Uses, Dosage, Side Effects & Warnings (drugs.com)
Mounjaro (Tirzepatide Injection): Uses, Dosage, Side Effects, Interactions, Warning (rxlist.com)

    Good luck with it.

    Cheers,
    Greg

    Hi Greg

I cannot fault your reasoning - anyone who takes medications without
good reason and medical advice is foolish.

It seems that my screen shot did not upload. It showed that Mounjaro had
far less side effects and was a lot more effective than Ozempic.
It was just a bit of information for people who do need to take it, that
there was something better on the horizon (fortunately I don't need
    either of these drugs).
But sometimes things get beyond one's control. Like when my cardiologist
stopped me from dropping Jardiance - "it protects your heart and
kidneys" ( I guess he knows more about it than I do.)

Anyway, I hope that whatever actions you are taking will continue to
    keep you free from drugs.

Best wishes for your continued good health.

    Steven B.
