I'm am going on a Domestic cruise next year and want to take out Travel Insurance - I would love to know if there is a company that doesn't discriminate against diabetics -   I have T2.

    Thanks

Hi Jill, I have had no travel insurer discriminate again me regarding my diabetes. Having said  that I rarely use it for domestic travel.  I have never done domestic cruises however. All insurers make commercial decisions regarding risk. You may like to consider Covermore. Be aware that many providers are underwritten by the same insurer, eg by QBE. Check out a few online and read the product disclosure statements. Currently I can't get insurance that I am willing to pay for, to cover overseas travel as I had two heart procedures this year. I will check again twelve months after my final procedure. Domestic travel insurance is not affected related to those procedures.

What you refer to as discrimination is just sound business practice - premium v risk.

Hi Jill, we are the same age, we have done 42 cruises and just recently got home from a World Cruise (107 nights). Our Credit Card ANZ Platinum covers us both for insurance. If you don't have one, then we used to use 1Cover.  I also have a FB group called Cruise Travel & All Holidays,. All are welcome to join us.

    Hi Jill

I have used 1cover for many years.  For Diabetes that is well controlled and no hospital visits there is good cover.  I have a number of pre existing conditions and have not had a problem with them

Hi Jill, my husband and I travel regularly domestic. I am T2D and always use NRMA Travel and have never experienced any issues due to my medical conditions.

    Enjoy your cruise.
