The supply of insulin pens is not covered by NDSS. The pens are supplied by the manufacturers sometimes directly (contact the insulin manufacturer) or a Diabetes nurse educator however in the case of the NOVO pens they are available free of charge from chemists - see this link for a chemist locator - https://novopen.pharmaprograms.com.au/locator/
Note, I had one chemist object to giving me a NOVO smart pen because I didn't get my insulin from them so I walked around the corner to a Chemist Wharehouse who were happy to fill in the online forms from NOVO and hand me one.

Not official and not endorsed but if you want to use the disposable pen vials in a Novo 6 pen - get a script for the pen fill fiasp - you can then follow the video here https://bionicwookiee.com/2022/04/12/fiasp-penfill-revisited/ NOTE: Always make sure that your insulin is within the use by date.

That's great info, I'm about to start using one with Fiasp and Toujeo solostar.
One other thing is that I have plenty of fiasp and Toujeo disposable pens left and don't want to waste it. Is there anyway this can be used by others. It's a shame to waste it. Any ideas

Hi Betty,
The insulin 6Plus sounds terrific and many thanks for the recommendation. Is the insulin pen single use or does it use cartridges that fit in the pen? I use Levimir single use pens for my long acting which is made by Novo. I have alarms on my phone to take in the evening so as not to forget, but a pen that records my behaviours and dosages would be very helpful. It's great that the pen is compatible with my Libre2 CGM.
I have copied and pasted below the information supplied by the company for the pen.
'NovoPen® 6 & NovoPen Echo® Plus are new, smart insulin pens that automatically record insulin dosing information about each injection. So you don't have to.
NovoPen® 6 & NovoPen Echo® Plus are intended for patients who have been prescribed Novo Nordisk insulin in cartridge.
NovoPen® 6 & NovoPen Echo® Plus record time and date of all injected doses as well as the number of units dosed.
You can view your insulin dosing information from NovoPen® 6 & NovoPen Echo® Plus side by side with glucose information (from Blood Glucose Monitoring or Continuous Glucose Monitoring) on compatible apps. This may reveal how your injection behaviour affects your glucose levels.
With NovoPen® 6 & NovoPen Echo® Plus, you can transfer your insulin dosing information to your preferred diabetes app and share it with your healthcare provider.
See which apps can connect with NovoPen® 6 & NovoPen Echo® Plus in the section further down
NovoPen® 6 & NovoPen Echo® Plus may contribute to informed discussions between you and your HCP when sharing data via a compatible app. This can help to personalise your insulin management based on your individual injection data.

I recently received a Novo Nordisk 6plus insulin pen, it records the elapsed time and dose of the injection and when the information is transferred to my Libra app the priming dose is also carried across
