  • 1.  Have you downloaded my health app?

Aussies downloaded 1.1 billion apps in 2023!

More than a few of them probably didn't deliver much value.

My health app is one that definitely will!

With the my health app, you can access My Health Record on your mobile, providing a secure and convenient way to view and share your HbA1c results and other important health information for your diabetes management.

With digital tools playing an increasingly important role in supporting diabetes self-management, enhancing person-centred care and improving data linkages, my health app is well worth a look.

The my health app is a secure and convenient way to access My Health Record on your mobile. If you or someone you know needs support getting started, visit for video guides, answers to frequently asked questions, and more.

    Hi Community Team

I find it intriguing that after using the myGov website that can be linked to so many life saving services that no medical professionals have ever asked me to link my details onto the site.  Is this the same for all forum members?
Why hasn't t any endocrinologist, GP or hospital emergency ever even suggested that I link up a chronic health emergency plan for the site?

It only leaves me to think that the MyGov app and website isn't functional or working for type one diabetics if there's an emergency
I have attached the app page that shows a Health Snapshot with an advanced care section. ( see below)  If this is where our emergency Chronic Health Plans are  included it should be labelled as such without ambiguity.

    Hi David,

I refused to be involved with the My Health record system as introduced by the Commonwealth Government, too risky with its data protection.

I am using the ACT Health system My DHR which has many more user friendly attributes that are easy to use and update. Check it out on www.mydhr.act.gov.au.

    Peter.

I have downloaded the app, and there is a smattering of pathology and scan results in there. e.g. I was asked for some cholesterol reports, and I know I get them quarterly with my endo, and also by GP and other specialists, but the only one I could find (that wasn't "locked") was from 9 months ago. They probably aren't useful given a few hospitalisations intervening. And none of those admissions are recorded in the MyHealth app.

Medications are reported if they are prescribed.

I was speaking to a govt rep who is part of the program of rolling out the app, and he was hopeful that hospitalisations would get recorded this year and more other things. So marginal use at present, but will get better.

    Hi David,

Many thanks for your reply.  I can also view my medical pathology etc on the Myhealth however this site is limited in terms of our  own Chronic Health Plan inputs  to be viewed when in medical emergencies at hospitals etc. It should be a first port of call.
Have any members ever put on the Myhealth website their Chronic Health Plan completed with their endocrinologist or GP?
For the diabetic patient, the Myhealth website appears to provide in a medical emergency limited accessibility and directions that can highlight their own personal health requirements in an emergency  such as insulin regime etc etc.
